Montana Bar Association (MBA)

The State Bar of Montana was established by the Montana Supreme Court in January 1974, although the Montana Bar Association had been in existence since 1885. Its creation required all attorneys practicing in the state to become members. The purpose of the State Bar is to improve the administration of justice, maintain high standards of integrity and competence within the legal profession, provide continuing education for attorneys, and ensure that the profession fulfills its public responsibilities. Over the years, the State Bar has evolved, promoting legal education and community service, and serving as a platform for discussions on legal practice and law reform.
